Hello

I'm Louise Witney, a UKCP registered Psychotherapist, Trainer and Supervisor working in private practice near Maidstone, Kent. I provide individual, couple and group psychotherapy in a peaceful, rural location and online. My practice is general, which means I work with a broad range of mental health problems like anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, somatic illness, childhood trauma and more. I am an advocate for change and that is my aim when I work with you. Feel free to contact me to arrange an initial session, where you can meet me and find out how therapy could help you.

My Story

Quite a long time ago, back in 2003, I felt that something was missing in my life and could never find what it was. After looking in all the wrong places, I eventually discovered the incredible world of therapy. It all started one cold January day when I went to see a therapist. I felt nervous about what to expect as I sat in the waiting room looking at an abstract picture on the wall in front of me. I went in and sat down, hands clasped hopefully in my lap. Nervously telling my story, I realised this was the first time anyone had really listened with such close attention. I felt seen, known, heard and understood. For once, I felt safe and that was the beginning of my love affair with the mind and the process of understanding it, in other words, psychotherapy. Since then I have followed my passion with formal training leading to a career in psychotherapy. Now I run a private practice in Kent.
